The Kangaroo Paw is one of Australia's nine magnificent floral emblems. One of approximately 12 species of the genus restricted to the Southwest of Western Australia. It is named after Robert Mangles, who raised this flower in his garden after it was taken to England and described by the English botanist David Don in 1836.
