The Common Heath is one of Australia's nine magnificent floral emblems. Victoria was the first Australian state to officially recognise a floral emblem in November 1958. First collected in 1793 by botanist Jacques-Julien Houton de Labillardiere, this slender and upright plant can grow to one meter high and occurs over large areas of Victoria, reaching into South Australia and Tasmania.
